Where Innovation Begins 2016
In 2010, the SciWorks Board of Directors introduced a new fundraiser to inspire the community and raise the profile of the science center as the place that inspires young minds in Winston-Salem, the City of Arts and Innovation. The year 2016 marked the seventh annual Where Innovation Begins fundraiser, held on May 20 at Old Town Club.
Chaired by Kristen & Jason Zaks, along with Kandra & Rob Greene and Scottie and David Neill as Honorary Chairs, our 2016 event centered around the theme “Fusion,” which is a celebration of how the synergy between two museums can create a dynamic environment in which 1 + 1 = More. There is so much energy and excitement around the planned July 1 merger between SciWorks and the Children’s Museum of Winston-Salem as the combined entity embarks on a mission of inspiring wonder, curiosity, and lifelong learning in our children and community through interactive play and discovery. This is an incredible time to be a part of what’s happening in our community and in the lives of our children.
